Business Model: Currently sole-proprietorship - seeking partners with $70,000 capital.
We will serve food using only the highest quality ingredients. All foods offered will use organic ingredients (where possible), such as flour, eggs and sustainable "fresh" fish. All food is cooked to order. The company has secured a local source of extremely fresh fish (either Cod or Haddock). We will never serve frozen fish. We will use eggs that come from local organic farms from birds that are "free range". The company will also use a very high quality peanut oil to cook food; peanut oil has a high smoke point and has no Tran’s fat. (If there is a healthy frying alternative peanut oil is it). The oil will be filtered on a daily basis to maintain freshness, while keeping costs low. The British Fish and Chip Company will also serve Lincolnshire Sausages, the classic English sausage, seasoned with imported Lincolnshire seasoning from the UK. Likewise, another offering will be the authentic Cornish Pasties, the perfect blend of beef, pork, potatoes, and onions, seasoned to perfection, wrapped in a thin buttery crust. The sausages and Cornish pastries are all homemade on a daily basis with seasonings from Great Britain.
Market Size and Description:
The ‘South Bay Area” of the Peninsula has several highly-affluent communities bordering the western edge of San Jose. It is also the headquarters area for numerous high-tech companies, including Apple Computer and E-Bay. The area includes numerous upscale shopping centers (Santana Row, Westgate Mall, Westfield Valley Fair) movie theaters and major entertainment venues. As a consequence, the area is one of high ethnic diversity and very high income levels – considerably above the norm for California.
