Description:
Want to start up a Vaudeville style dinner theater in the Houston Downtown area if possible. The type of Vaudeville theater that you might have viewed if you have seen the theatrical musical or movie, Chicago. I am a production lighting designer myself and have been doing lighting for over 10 years. During those years I have worked for production companies, done independent work myself and have worked on cruise ships. With the help of a lot of artists and designers that I have met during these years I can put together the perfect collaboration of people to make the business have a great start. The persons needed to make this happen would include:
Artistic Director
Stage Manager
Assistant Stage Manager
Lighting Designer (myself)
Sound Designer
Dance Captain (dancers and Adage Duo)
Vocal Captain (singers)
Band Master (with band members)
Bar Manager (with bar staff)
Head Chef ( with kitchen staff)
Photo Manager
Dinning Room Manager (with waitstaff with theatrical experience)
To start off the funding will be used to secure a site with a kitchen, and a large enough dinning area where a stage can be built. We aren't talking about a traditional proscenium thrust stage. The dinner theater should be build in the round so that the audience can interact with the performers. As we continue, we will have meetings with the key players to talk about budget for different departments.
